Mitch & Mitch con il loro Gruppo Etereofonico
Friday—19:00
Main Hall
One of the most interesting and certainly hardest working Polish bands whose only constant is changeability, both in terms of line-up and the genre of music they happen to play. The number of projects, cooperations and collaborations they are involved in is enough to make anyone’s head spin. It is not helped by the fact that they deliberately hide behind pseudonyms based on the name Mitch, shy away from interviews and sometimes even pretend to be other people, including the US ambassador to Poland. All this – as you can easily guess – causes a lot of problems not only for concert organisers, but also for the band’s loyal fans.
The list of their achievements is too long to list them all here, but let’s try: they were the first to play country music at the OFF Festival, they convinced an alternative audience to Zbigniew Wodecki by recording a well-received album with him, they have performed as a duo, a quintet, an octet, a nêté (and even as an orchestra and a choir!), they have collaborated with some of the best Polish and foreign artists and… they have supposedly played everything and everywhere. Well, except maybe in the Cavatina Hall.
We would like to make up for this by inviting everyone with a thirst for good music to a concert that we guarantee will appeal to fans of film music as well as lovers of Chianti, Tuscany and the Italian sun.
This time, Mitch & Mitch have chosen the works of maestro Ennio Morricone. The two permanent members of the band (here under the pseudonyms Michele and Michele) decided to invite recognised and talented instrumentalists and vocalists who, in accordance with the band’s dress code, adopted the appropriate pseudonyms and played the roles they had invented together. And it has to be said that together they have succeeded in creating a total work of art: an album of extraordinary lightness that can only evoke positive emotions, associations and a state of blissful relaxation. This lightness is also the result of a selection of works by the Italian composer, perhaps less well known, but written by him between 1969 and 1971. Compositions that enter the realm of easy listening and bossa nova, the epitome of beauty, romance and finesse. In Bielsko-Biała they will perform as Mitch & Mitch con il loro Gruppo Etereofonico, consisting of:
Anna Baranetti – corno francese
Anna Brachacci – basso
Maddalena Gae’Gizza – vocale, flauto traverso
Maddalena K. Penqala – vibrafono, campanelli, strumenti a percussione
Margherita Sarbacchi – mellotron, clavicembalo, pianoforte
Mitch a.k.a. Michele – chitarra elettrica
Mitch a.k.a. Michele – batteria
