About the Artists – Colours of Tango & Orchestra
Colours of Tango is a unique voyage to early 20th-century Argentina, to the suburbs of Buenos Aires where the vivid and passionate culture of tango first emerged. Argentine tango is not only a sensual and intense dance but also a deeply emotional and diverse music genre created with passion and driven by powerful feelings.
A shared love for tango brought together two young musicians from Łódź and Argentine singer Oscar Ovejero, giving rise to the artistic project Colours of Tango.
Oscar Ernesto Ovejero, a native of Buenos Aires, undoubtedly has tango in his blood. His singing is natural, full of temperament, and conveys the very essence of tango in its purest form.
He is accompanied by a duo of young instrumentalists educated at music academies in Poland and Austria – Aneta Salwińska (harp) and Konrad Salwiński (accordion). Accomplished artists on both national and international stages, they showcase the rich sound of their instruments through original arrangements of works by tango’s old masters. Inspired by the music of Piazzolla, Villoldo, and Gardel, they unveil to the audience the full spectrum of tango’s colors. The ensemble has performed in Poland, Austria, Germany, and the UK, and has been honored with the Certificate of the Academia Nacional del Tango.
Adding to this rare instrumental combination is the versatile and dynamic sound of the Primuz Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Łukasz Błaszczyk.
The group Colours of Tango is supported by the honorary patronage of the Embassy of Argentina in Poland and holds the Certificate of the Academia Nacional del Tango.
Concert Program
During the concert, you will hear the most famous Argentine tangos in original arrangements for voice, concert harp, accordion/bandoneon, and orchestra. The program includes such iconic pieces as Libertango, La Cumparsita, and El Choclo, and of course, the unforgettable Por una cabeza from the film Scent of a Woman.
Inspired by the music of Piazzolla, Villoldo, and Gardel, the artists present a wide array of tango styles – from traditional tangos and milongas to tango vals and tango nuevo. Enhancing this extraordinary musical show is a tango dance performance by professional dancers who regularly appear on stages throughout Poland.
