A night of musical masterpieces — a meeting with great composers whose works are forever inscribed in the canon of world symphonic music.
The concert will open with the energetic and colorful overture to “William Tell” by Gioachino Rossini — a true showcase of orchestral expression and intensity.
Next, we’ll hear one of Fryderyk Chopin’s most beautiful works — Piano Concerto No. 1, admired for its lyricism and romantic storytelling. The soloist will be Mateusz Dubiel, a brilliant young pianist with a distinctive musical personality.
The evening continues with Double Bass Concerto by Serge Koussevitzky — a rarely performed piece full of technical challenges and deep expression. It will be performed by guest soloist Janusz Widzyk, a world-renowned double bassist.
To conclude, Symphony No. 5 “Reformation” by Felix Mendelssohn — inspired by the spirit of the Reformation and the tradition of Lutheran music — a monumental and uplifting finale that will leave the audience in awe and reflection.
